I’d just like to say, on behalf of every person who has ever worked as a cashier, that on a daily basis, we encounter at LEAST one person who remembers something they forgot, so they leave their stuff at the register to go grab that item “really quickly” while an entire line of customers stare at you.

So when cashiers ask “Is that everything?,” we’re genuinely asking, and prompting you to wrack your brain to make sure you legitimately have everything BEFORE we start ringing your stuff up.

The fact that the one guy throws down his bag and goes to save the guy, but then he realizes he’s too late. And if you continue watching him, he like throws his hands up and then turns away. He probably feels disappointed that he couldn’t help, but he tried. I bet he didn’t even know the guy. And that really makes me not lose faith in everyone.

It’s so disturbing that only one person actually reacted, everyone else just backs up and turns away from it. Incredibly sad

The other people reacted by turning away when the train came which was pretty cowardly. But none of us know how we would react if we were in that situation. We all hope we wouldn’t be in too much of a shock to help but you really never know until it happens to you. God willing it doesn’t happen to anyone. In a perfect world…
